The Color Wheels, The Color Wheels
imageThe Color Wheels were described to me as like The Promise Ring but they sound a little like 'Static Prevails'-era Jimmy Eat World or a less kooky 'Blue'-era Weezer. For a three-piece they write very catchy little songs that have a lot of charm. 'Rock My World' gets things off to a chirpy start, but things really kick off with the ballsy 'Green Means Go', a song which is so simple you have to double take to ensure you actually capture all of it's genius.

Even though this album is 11 songs long only two last longer than 3 minutes, so The Color Wheel experience is a pretty brief one. That said, by the end you're left begging for more. 'Plain jane', 'Hot For Teacher' and 'Don't Hit On me' are all really catchy songs. It's pretty difficult not to like this band really, so I'd suggest giving them a thorough checking out.
