Greetings From..., A Rocket To The Moon
imageWell this is bland! Fueled By Ramen's recent signing policy has been questionable to say the least with a stack of bands that either sound the same or sound exactly like their other artists. A Rocket to the Moon are no different, sounding suspiciously like The Friday Night Boys. In other words pop-punk is back, All Time Low are tearing it up and the labels are desperate to find the next band to dominate MTV. With FBR replicating the success Drive Thru had back in 2001 I have no doubts this band will do well, but 'Dakota' aside this is totally bland and forgettable fare.

The kids will undoubtedly love it and have 'I heart Rocket to the Moon' on their pencil cases, but this is very, very standard fare. It's overproduced, there's not too many singalongs and it sounds like a lot of other bands. And I mean a lot of other bands. Actually, if you took one element of all the other FBR pop-punk acts and merged them you'd probably get this record. It's just so obvious...I don't know, maybe a few years ago I;d have enjoyed this but in my cynical old age I can't see this as anything less than a fashionable cash in at whatever fad is cool in the US right now. Sit back and watch the kids lap this up, hear the single on the radio and the video on TV - but believe me, you're better off without this in your life.
