imageRosematter sound a little like Mimi Soya. You expected me to say Paramore, right? Well I'm not that lazy - and Rosematter's Katie sounds nothing like Hayley Williams in any case. Released on Victory Recs sub-label Torque this full length is pretty good. Produced by Chris Badami it certainly sounds the part and with a clutch of good, solid songs I can see the band doing well for themselves. They're certainly better than a couple of other female-fronted bands being pushed right now (cough, Automatic Loveletter, cough)

'I Drink To Prepare' and 'Decadance is Freedom...' stick to a similar formula, which is built around the frontwoman's very powerful vocals, but there are choruses to be enjoyed and sung along to. Over the course of an album the trick does begin to wear thin, but the good songs are good enough to cover this up a little bit. 'Do Re Egon' is another good tune. It's a predictable sound and Rosematter don't do anything that hasn't been done before, but if you like girls singing catchy pop-punk songs you could do a lot worse than to catch Rosematter before they get bigger.
