imageSomewhere along the line Tonight Is Goodbye have become one of the UK's best pop-punk bands. 'Black Dress' aside I thought the last EP was a bit predictable and generic, with the aforementioned single the real shining light among a sea of tracks that flattered to deceive. TIG are now the real deal and this EP, set to be released on Banquet, is a real breath of fresh air. It will catapult the band to the levels of You Me At 6 and, if there's any justice, up there with Kids In Glass Houses.

There's an Academy Is... swagger in Ant West's vocal delivery as the band have clearly honed every facet of their sound in the last year or so. 'Brain' is a fantastic opener with a huge chorus, while 'Noughts and Crosses' sounds like a funkier, punkier Maroon 5. It's pop, admittedly, but delivered in a way that will appeal to fans of all musical genres. 'Fire in the Hole' is the real deal too, arguably the best song the band have ever written. And after recently watching the band there's no doubt they can recreate this EP's catchiness in a live setting too.

How far can this band go? The sky's the limits - expect Tonight Is Goodbye to blow up big this summer and deservedly so.
