Dinosaurs Go Rawr!, Amy Can Flyy
imageThis will undoubtedly split people straight down the middle. The Marmite band, so to speak. There's no middle ground with bands like Amy Can Flyy (yes, that's Flyy with two 'y's), you either love them or hate them. They're infuriatingly sickening, with shiny Gameboy-esque loops and samples lifted straight from Nintendo's back catalogue. It's as if HelloGoodbye re-invented themselves as a horrible boy band and sang cliched songs about girls and broken hearts. Oh wait, they've done that already? OK, turn the sickness up at least two notches...

To be fair to the band they do what they do very, very well. The songs are catchy, feature enough programming to keep Enter Shikari busy for months and they will sppeal to wacky students everywhere - if the band blew up BIG, and I mean top 40 big, it would not surprise me at all. 'Doctor Doctor', and it's plagarised lyrics is actually more clever than it appears at face value. For all it's simplicity and stupidity, the band can write a catchy tune and this will undoubtedly help them build a solid foundation.

But 'Dinosaurs Go Rawr' is too sickly sweet for me. I'm a cynical old man and had I been 15-years younger I would undoubtedly lap this up as much as a diet of sherbert dib dabs and full fat Pepsi. But I'm nearly 30 and while I can safely say this will do well, and the kids will love it, I don't love it quite as much...
