The Threatened Kind, Sling69
imageIf you like your skate punk to have a hardcore edge, I guess in a similar way to Strike Anywhere, then you will really enjoy France's Sling69. A band who play their music with their hearts on their sleeve, they play a raucous, passionate brand of punk rock that's coated in plenty of melody. They hit hard and heavy, yet don't skimp on the singalongs at the same time. Truth be told this 10-tracker is a little short on genuine quality moments, meaning it's not quite as good as the bands that influence them, but you have to admire the fire which burns in their belly. 'Nothing More' and 'We Are The Solution' are possibly the best songs here, but a little variety would suit the band in the long run. Still, a fiery and passionate record that deserves a chance.
