FDR, McRad
If you just listen out for the three-chord punk rock guitar riffs, McRad sound, well, rad. But if you add in a really lazy vocal that doesn't so much sing as just, well, talk, you end up with a really disappointing and pretty much unlistenable band. I like skate-punk as much as the next man and some of the riffs on this record are really fun. Quite basic at times, but the rythmn section really nails it on 'Ejected' and 'McShred'. But I lose all of that impetus when the vocals kick in. There's a distinct lack of melody and nothing there to match the quality of the musicianship. All in all, a very promising band end up nothing more than poor.
