Crashing Into Consciousness, I Am The Pilot
imageThere are two ways of looking at this album:

1) It's a pretty safe sounding, generic rock record of which there are ten-a-penny around right now.

2) It's a record full of big guitars and catchy hooks with songs destined to infest the airwaves.

Depending on how sick you are with big rock records will probably determine how much you rate this album. Tracks like 'Warriors' and 'Gone Too Far' are hooky as Hoobastank proved when they were big a few years back, and while there are moments which will be enjoyed by the more 'emo' readers among us - there's a slightly less goth 30 Seconds To Mars feel in the production in my opinion - it's one of those take it or leave it records. Personally, I believe it's listenable in short doses...but possibly not a long term fave.
