You Rot Me, Die Hunns
imageI remember watching a DVD about two years ago - it may have been an Epitaph one or a Warped Tour release - and there was a pretty in depth interview with Duane Peters on it. It stood out because the guy was clearly fucked off his face, could hardly speak and barely made any sense whatsoever. Having said that, the guy's a legend in punk rock circles and although his body has clearly suffered for his art, you can't take anything away from what he's done in the 'scene'. Fronting US Bombs, Political Crap, Duane Peters Gunfight, and Exploding Fuckdolls, he owns his own label and is now part of Die Hunns.

Rather surprisingly, Die Hunns' latest release doesn't really sound anything like any of his former bands. So if you're expecting a record like the US Bombs, only the track '47th Street' is likely to satisfy your craving. That said, there's a variety of styles and influences on this record and I really believe it makes it stand out from his previous efforts. The record flows well and is genuinely interesting - I came into this expecting an aural street punk assault and I was pleased to discover something totally different. A welcome surprise.
