campaign moving slow, We're All Broken
Another band hot out of the Fidelity Records camp (I owe them a million favours for unleashing race The Sun on me this year), We're All Broken are different again, showing the label's roster is as talented as it is varied. They're actually a label reminding me of Lobster Records in the fact they don't shirk on quality. WAB are a lot more aggressive than a band like RTS; featuring swirling guitar riffs and a darker side that batters and bruises, yet never comes across like a generic, lame-o band that resorts to screaming/singing in equal measure to get the message across. The result is a thoroughly enjoyable listen and one I'm sure I'm going to kep going back to.

'Ambrosia' is an early standout, a song that's strong from opening drumbeat to closing symbal crash, while 'Bite and Kick' does exactly as it says on the tin. WAB impress with some really clever vocals - at times they do what Finch have tried to do on the new album, sometimes passing up the chance to go down the melodic route in favour of the darker, sinister, yet more interesting take on things. WAB aren't afraid to mix things up either, making it even harder to pinpoint their sound. 'Bit In the Head By A Wolf' sounds a little like Tool or early Silverchair, while the drumming in 'Estrella' really, really impresses. WAB offer something a little different, so check these kids out if you can.
