At first I thought The Yellow Belts had a bit of a The Queers edge to them, but the more I listen the more they sound like The Supersuckers. So kind of find a half-way house and you'd be about right. This six-track is pretty good for what it is - blast after blast of guitar-led pop-rock, complete with more attitude than someone with a rather large chip on their shoulder. Songs like 'Crash Landers' and 'Time Killers' have a juvenile edge (what do you expect with the rather child-like serial killer art?!), but at the same time are executed with a bit of verve and arrogance that makes you want to listen. Not usually my kinda thing, but pretty good nonetheless.
