Slam Dunk Festival, is back for its 12th year this May. We for one, can't wait

In the run up to the festival we are presenting ‘Postcards From Slam Dunk’, a series of quick fire Q+A’s with some of the bands set to appear at the event.

Next up we talk to Comeback Kid’s frontman Andrew Neufeld

How does it feel returning to Slam Dunk this year?

We’re jazzed up for it. We played a couple years ago, so now we know what to expect outta the UK freaks innit!

What do you enjoy most about playing festivals?

Seeing and playing with bands we don’t usually play with. Playing outside is fun especially with a cool breeze. I’ll probably just get lost in the maze trying to find the Jimmy Eat World show.

What are your favourite festival memories, either playing or attending?

Slamming for Madball in Spain, passing Lemmy backstage at random festivals – never saying a word just pleased to be in the presence of a God, and playing for thousands people never gets old so that’s a good time.

How do you tailor your set for a festival compared to a regular show?

Depends on how long the set is really. We always just do a “best of” type of thing.

Which bands are you hoping to catch over the weekend?

Jimmy Eat World, Counterparts, The Rattlesnakes, and Lower Than Atlantis I’ll be heading out to watch.

How’s the tour going so far and what’s been your favourite show?

We just arrived in Australia. Doing a quick rip through Australia and New Zealand before flying to the UK so getting the body adjusted currently. Jet lag won’t stop us.

Slam Dunk Festival takes place across the May Bank Holiday weekend at the dates and venues below. Tickets are on sale now from the official Slam Dunk website.
