The members of Delaire, The Liar give us their picks for their UK Underground Playlist.

 ‘Scratch’ – Frown Upon

This era of Frown Upon was when I was first introduced to them and they gave me early Gallows/Frank Carter type of slap round the chops. Honestly, who knew I loved being slapped so much?

‘Literomancer’ – The King Is Dead

One of the most visceral live bands I’ve ever seen, ultra-potent post hardcore with a LOT of hair and a wonderful array of trousers. They write super intelligent songs and singer Omar has this hardcore Brendan Urie vibe on some of those high vocal parts and I am HERE 4 THAT.

‘Si, Yes’ – Ill Informed

Young punks with a really matured aggressive sound. Massive great big fuckin’ riffs and when we saw them play recently, Laura (vocals) ended up on the roof of the pub. Been pretty much sold on them ever since. Up the punx.

‘Territories’ – Drones
If you like seeing people swinging upside down off stuff whilst shouting about the absolute state of the world, Drones are ya babies. Prepare yourself to do some seriously aggressive finger pointing.

‘Beehive’ – Gaffa Tape Sandy
We played with these guys in a few weeks ago and we were blown away – they absolutely rocked. This track in particular has an almost whimsical feel but manages to totally shred at the same time.

‘Peggy’ – Orchards
Orchards’ mix of upbeat hooky vibes and twinkly techy emo guitar is just killer. We’d probably blast this in our car if we had one.

My Only – I Had To Pay For Every Breath That I Took
This is an absolute bangpiece. These guys have such raw and emotional delivery and this song is a great snapshot of that. The two of us have both caught My Only live a few times and it’s always been a mental show.
