George Gadd finds comfort in the past in video for ‘Exit Strategy’

Nottingham based singer-songwriter George Gadd is exclusively premiering his new video for ‘Exit Strategy’ with us at Punktastic.

“The video was completely accidental,” explains Gadd, “I went over to my mum’s one evening and found a load of old video tapes in the attic. Having no access to a video player, I decided to digitise them and watch through them. Following a pretty difficult time, it was comforting to go through my childhood videos. It spurned me to get in touch with people I hadn’t spoken to in years. At a time where I felt most vulnerable, I was reminded of how supportive my family have been throughout my life as well as my friends.”

On how he pieced the video together, Gadd states, “There was only a limited amount of footage and only so many times you could see my cute face. I spliced the footage with footage of the recording of ‘Better Shape’ as well as my first gig and most memorable moments. Thankfully, I was able to restrain myself with a lot of these so there’s a great deal of embarrassing video that has yet to be found.”

‘Exit Strategy’ is taken from George Gadd’s upcoming EP, ‘Better Shape’, which will be available on the 20th January 2017 via Under the Bridge Records. Gadd will also be supporting Chas Palmer-Williams at The Venue in Derby tomorrow, Thursday 22nd December.
