Benjamin Blue are candidly articulate on debut self-titled EP

By Aaron Lohan

Combining members from the now defunct Lenin Death Mask and currently active post hardcore band Slowlight, Glasgow act Benjamin Blue are a potential contender for one of the best new UK bands of the year so far, and we’re exclusively streaming their debut self-titled EP.

The band utilises a candid blend of indie pop with articulate math rock ambition. Every so often this diverts into an unexpected change up, whilst the dual vocals by guitarist Peter Taylor and bassist Beth Black convey honest lyrical introspection.

Benjamin Blue’s debut self-titled EP will be available on limited edition cassette on the 17th October via Struggletown Records. The band will also be going on a UK tour with Manchester band Crywank starting this Friday 14th October.
