Petrol Girls seek out images for cover of debut album, ‘Talk Of Violence’

By Aaron Lohan

London post hardcore punks Petrol Girls are asking their fans to submit images for the cover of their upcoming debut album, ‘Talk Of Violence’.

“Violence is the overarching theme of our new record,” explains lead vocalist Ren Aldridge, “We hope to keep a conversation going about how society defines violence, and the ways that power and control are maintained through insidious forms of it. As part of that conversation we’re inviting people to submit images that they feel represent violence, for us to use in a collage forming part of the album artwork. We ideally want images with a strong line (in any direction) running through them and are open to everyone’s ideas of what violence is.”

If you’re interested in taking part, then you can email the band at petrolgirlsband@gmail.com, with a short description with what your image represents, name, and the following, “I give Petrol Girls permission to use this image.” If your submission is used, then you’ll get a free copy of the album. The deadline is at 12pm on Monday 22nd August.

‘Talk Of Violence’ is expected to drop sometime in the Autumn. You can listen to the album’s first single, ‘Treading Water’, on bandcamp. You can also catch the band on tour with Perkie at the end of this month.
