Black Shape have called it a day

By Aaron Lohan

London/Kent hardcore group Black Shapes recently announced that they’ve broken up on their Facebook page.

Formed from the ashes of various UK hardcore bands including November Coming Fire and Tortuga in 2011, the quartet released a small discography, which included their barnstorming debut, ‘Sleep, Sleep, Sleep’, in 2013 via In At the Deep End Records.

Their closing statement is as follows:

“2011-2016. Black Shapes is no more.

No huge speeches, no hard feelings and certainly no regrets. We’ve had a blast over the last five years and are all still great friends, but all things must come to an end. There may be a final show at some point, but we are yet to discuss this properly. We’ll see.

All that’s left to give at this point is massive thanks, love and respect to everyone and anyone that ever supported us in any way. It really is appreciated.

See ya.”
