Win a very special Jamie Lenman item and limited edition vinyl

By Dave Stewart

It’s no secret that we love Jamie Lenman here at Punktastic. We’ve swooned over his albums, we’ve lost our minds at his shows, we’ve collaborated and designed merchandise together, and now we’re joining forces once more for something pretty darn special.

Celebrating the release of Lenman’s brand new album ‘The Atheist’, we’ve got a lovely little prize to give away to one lucky winner that will include a very special item. “What might that be,” I hear you ask? Well, it’s the paper hat that Jamie wore in the video for his beautiful NHS charity single ‘Hospital Tree’, which Mr Lenman himself has signed. Watch the video below.

Coming at a time when the NHS is buckling under the strain of COVID fallout, understaffing, funding issues and a national strike over nurses’ pay, ‘Hospital Tree’ provides a timely reminder of the personal stories and people behind the vital public service, highlighting the length that staff go to for patients over even the smallest of details.

Commenting on the track, Lenman says: “I ended up visiting Frimley Park Hospital, who treated me when I got pneumonia and took care of my Dad when he had cancer, to talk to them about the idea of Christmas in hospital. One lady said she was glad I’d noticed their efforts with things like decorations and such, that cheering the place up around the holidays is important to them, and that one of the things that made the pandemic even harder was that they weren’t able to do as much of that. So it was wonderful that they could hear my message of thanks. I hope they all hear it.”

Lenman will be taking the track and many more from his ever-growing back catalogue to his third specially curated Lenmania event, LenManchester, hitting Manchester’s Club Academy and Bar 532 on December 18th. Lenmania III sees the day of Lenman’s carefully picked favourites continue to grow as he welcomes Saint Agnes, Sick Joy, James & The Cold Gun, Katie Malco, Rad Pitt, Gen & The Degenerates, Brigade and Other Half to perform alongside him. The man himself will perform not once but twice over the course of the day, making it a must-attend for both fans of his music and anyone with their ears to the ground listening for up-and-coming talent.

To enter the competition please follow us on Instagram, share this post to your story (don’t forget to tag us!) and tag a friend in the comments that you’re thankful for – spread that kindness, folks! Competition closes on Sunday 18th December. The winner will receive the ‘Hospital Tree’ paper hat signed by Jamie Lenman and a copy of ‘The Atheist’ on limited edition blue vinyl, and will be announced on Monday 19th December.
