Watch the video for ‘Out On A Limb’ by The Rooz

Having shared stages with the likes of Lawson, Union J and Boyzone, Birmingham four-piece The Rooz might not be the most obvious choice for the melodic rock crown. Still, their sound – particularly on new track ‘Out On A Limb’ – shares more in common with their heavier counterparts, using gruffer rock to create an instant ear-worm.

“To us our band has always been about more than just writing heavy riffs and loud rock songs,” The Rooz explain. “What is most important to us is remaining completely true to ourselves and being able to entertain and put a smile on the faces of people of all ages and musical interests. We just play the music we feel like playing, and sometimes that means bringing in elements of pop music, as well as rock and metal.”

Like many before them, The Rooz are unlikely to be confined by their early associations. With punchy tracks such as ‘Out On A Limb’, the young upstarts (as young as 16) could forge a path into a variety of scenes. Whichever they choose, they’ll undoubtedly be bringing their rock to the masses.
