Stream the new LP by German pop-punks, Holly Would Surrender

By Ben Tipple

Hamburg based Holly Would Surrender boast some famous friends. Tony Lovato of Mest, Nick Diener of The Swellers, MC Lars and Zebrahead’s Dan Palmer are just some of those adding collaboration credits to the band’s latest full-length, ‘Kaleidoscope’. The variety of these artistic associates represents the record’s diversity, always pop-punk but never an imitation.

“We couldn’t have chosen a better album name as you can find exactly the variety of a rotating kaleidoscope in the songs,” Holly Would Surrender explain. “The lyrics are much darker than before, due to personal changes in Ole Baumert’s life. But the energy of melodic hymns and catchy choruses get the songs stuck in your head.”

Citing blink-182, New Found Glory and NOFX as key inspirations, Holly Would Surrender embrace the full spectrum of pop-punk. Kicking off with a short intro and the blink and you’ll miss it ‘A Long Way To The Top’, the rest of ‘Kaleidoscope’ is a speedily melodic experience.
