Riskee and The Ridicule are here to ‘Party’ in their new video

By Glen Bushell

Kent-based punk band, Riskee and The Ridicule, always bring the party wherever they go. It is quite fitting that their new single is aptly-titled, ‘Party’, which we are bringing you an exclusive look at today.

“Everyone is welcome to join the party!” say the band of their new single. “Ever since we started playing live around different parts of the UK and Europe, we have always had an interesting and diverse mix of people coming to see us. As a band, we always strive to meet as many fans as we can and we’re always humbled by their stories and what connects them to our music or how far they have travelled to see us. This single is a “thank you” to them.”

However, this is not just a party anthem. In light of recent political events, the band have another agenda with their new video. “All of us, the fans and the band, created posters with the word ‘immigrant’ on for the ‘Party’ video and it’s this footage you see at the end,” they explain. “We wanted to comment on the terrible negativity that the recent referendum has unfortunately unleashed. “Whether people in Britain voted “leave” or “remain”, we believe there are benefits in both. What we DON’T believe in is politicians and the media playing chess games with the worries, fears and futures of the people that they are supposed to represent and ‘educate’. We are all from different backgrounds and are all very proud to be a part of a country that has thrived from immigration in a lot of ways. Could it be improved? Of course, but let’s not make concerns about welfare and free trade EVER become about race.”

‘Party’ is taken from the bands forthcoming album, which is due to be unveiled in the very near future. Keep up to date with Riskee and The Ridicule on Facebook and over at their Bandcamp page.
