PT Plays January 2012: “Cheer Up!”

By Tom Aylott

It’s that time of year again. Christmas is gone, New Year’s Eve was shit, you’ve checked your bank account and you’re not sure how you’ll make rent. Add to that, and the world is set to end when the Mayan calendar does (that’s what you get for using fountain pens) – but not to worry… we have a solution as good as quitting drinking/smoking/going to the gym for two weeks before resuming drinking/smoking/posting on internet forums: a playlist of songs that are as down in the dumps as you are.

So, without further faffing, you can listen to our January playlist ‘Punktastic: January 2012 – “Cheer Up!”‘ to get you through these rubbish winter days and nights.

It features songs from F-MINUS, CHOKING VICTIM, ALKALINE TRIO, PENNYWISE (told you they were grumpy) and more, and all have titles that seem to reflect a need for a positive mood cycle.

  1. THE DISTILLERS – SICK OF IT ALL
  2. DESCENDENTS – EVERTHING SUX
  3. WEEZER – WHY BOTHER?
  4. F-MINUS – PARTY’S OVER
  5. RANCID – DISGRUNTLED
  6. CHOKING VICTIM – BORN TO DIE
  7. NOFX – IDIOTS ARE TAKING OVER
  8. BAD RELIGION – WE’RE ONLY GONNA DIE
  9. AGAINST ME! – PROBLEMS
  10. YOUNG GUNS – THERE WILL BE RAIN
  11. GREEN DAY – REDUNDANT
  12. FALL OUT BOY – I DON’T CARE
  13. PENNYWISE – CAN’T TAKE ANY MORE
  14. MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE – I’M NOT OKAY (I PROMISE)
  15. SUM 41 – MAKES NO DIFFERENCE
  16. ALKALINE TRIO – BACK TO HELL
  17. OPERATION IVY – HERE WE GO AGAIN
  18. BLINK-182 – NOT NOW
