Today we have a stream from Turnspit and Steve O & The Crippling Additions (The Holy Mess). The EP is out on Friday and here’s some more about it from Turnspit themselves..
“When we decided to do this tour, we figured we should record a few songs and have another EP to bring on the road with us. We had some songs that we loved, but felt like they belonged on an EP rather than our upcoming LP. We wanted to do a split with someone from one of the towns we’d be going to, but finding a band that had songs ready to record in such a short time frame but with no existing plans for said songs was difficult. Around the same time, SteveO (of The Holy Mess) posted on his Facebook page that he had heard “I Wonder If They’re Happy” (thanks to our mutual friend and split cover art collaborator Jen Brannon) and liked it. That blew us away. We figured we’d ask him about doing the split, and he was into it! SteveO’s songs are three acoustic songs, one of which is a reworking of the Holy Mess song, “Spencer Reid.” It’s also an interesting release for us because Gillian, Jason S. and Jason D. each take lead vocals on a track. We’re all very proud of these songs and very excited for y’all to check ‘em out.”
