First Play of The Surrealists debut EP, ‘Terrortoma’

By Glen Bushell

As bold as it may come across, trying to describe what The Surrealists sound like is just as hard as trying to figure out the meaning of life. With a strange yet perfect combination of styles that needs to be heard to be believed, they are as surreal as their name suggests. Today we are excited to bring you the first play of their debut EP, ‘Terrortoma’.

“Terrortoma’ marks the start of the band’s rebirth as a quartet since foundation in 2014,” explains guitarist/vocalist, Ryan Taylor. ‘The artwork for ‘Terrortoma’ – depicting a cartoon lump of flesh and body parts – is as much of an oxymoron of sheer horror and cuteness as it is a representation of the music. The tracks don’t feature a coherent theme or narrative, but are simply a batch of unique songs, grafted together in a macabre display of harsh riffs and sweet melodies. Songs of varying lengths, tempos, ideas and sounds to showcase what we wish to achieve as a band and what is soon to follow.”

‘Terrortoma’ is released on October 22nd, and you can find out more about The Surrealists over at their Facebook page.
