First play of Orto’s debut EP, ‘Kinda Dismal’

By Glen Bushell

Orto hit the nail on the head when they tell us that their debut EP, ‘Kind Dismal’, is an eclectic mix of anger, passion, and weirdness. It is a chaotic affair that is filled with emotion, and today we are bringing you an exclusive first play of it.

“The songs on the EP all have an underlying theme; they’re about losing your roots and losing touch with most of the people you love,” explain the band. “It’s about the change in dynamics from relationships to friendships. Being afraid to make new changes because you don’t want to let go of the little you’ve managed to keep hold of. But it’s also positive because it’s the first time (on a personal level) that lyrically these topics have been addressed and recognised. For us as a band, we’ve grown up and matured and we’ve changed so much from our previous projects. We don’t need to take shit anymore which means we can just enjoy our music for what it is: Orto.”

’Kind Dismal’ is released via Ghoulish Records, and you can find out more information about Orto over at the bands Facebook page.
