First play ‘Beware Of The Natives’, the new single from Lumer

By Glen Bushell

When the post-punk movement began in the late 70’s/early 80’s, no one could have predicted that 30 years later bands were still carrying that torch. What makes it even more special is that they are all doing it well. While there are too many to list, the latest name you can add to it are Lumer. Based in Hull, the trio channel the spirit of Joy Division, The Sound, and early material from The Cure, and run it through their own distorted filter to create a very current version of a classic sound.

As the release of their self-titled EP looms, we are bringing you the first play of the new single from Lumer, ‘Beware Of The Natives.’

“‘Beware Of The Natives’ is a boot to the face,” states Lumer drummer, Jacob Wardle. “It’s about those natives who surround us, from racists to bigots to corrupt politicians…Beware.”

Lumer’s self-titled EP is released on September 12th, and is available to pre-order from their Bandcamp. Lumer also have several shows lined up for August and September, which you can see the dates for below.
