When you reach a certain age it’s easy to get jaded about new music, and you tend to yearn for “the good old days.” Then you hear a band like Quieter who remind you of those days. Their driving, anthemic emo-rock sounds like it is lifted straight out of the early 00’s, giving you a warm feeling of nostalgia.

Quieter deliver uplifting melodies and bright guitar lines, which every so often are amplified by passionate screams delivered with the utmost conviction. You will know their sound when you listen to their excellent track, ‘Haunts’, but it’s great to hear a band doing it so well in 2016. Their most recent release is a split with former P.O.V stars, Glacier Veins, which is what led me to take a listen, and I’m definitely glad I did.
