Weezer detail new album, reveal track and a world tour

By Ben Tipple

Having teased fans with new tracks ‘Thank God For Girls’ and ‘Do You Wanna Get High?’, Weezer have now confirmed their forthcoming white album, due for release on the 1st April.

As part of their self-titled series (for want of a better explanation), the record follows blue, green, and red, released in 1994, 2001 and 2008 respectively.

To firm up the announcement, Weezer have also revealed another new track, ‘King Of The World’.

That’s not all. Bear with us.

Weezer have also announced an extensive world tour that sees them play alongside Panic! In The Disco stateside. They will also be playing three shows in the UK and mainland Europe, namely Manchester, London and Amsterdam.

In their typical satirical fashion (or at least we hope it’s a joke), the band are also offering a very special VIP package to fans for the measly sum of $25000.

For it, fans can access:

– Take a Greyhound to the Galapagos with Rivers where you’ll stay only for a limited time
– Once you get to the islands, you’ll go bird watching to try and find the elusive White-cheeked pintail
– You’ll go on a catamaran ride to Charles Darwin Research Station
– Sing “the British are coming” with Rivers in the Galapagos but replace every lyric about “old king george” to “lonesome george”
– Enjoy your complimentary signed copy of the album and a pair of tickets to see the band on their summer tour with Panic! At The Disco
– Finally, you will be named King of the World for a day

As if that wasn’t enough banter, the announcement also notes that fans will have to pay frontman Rivers Cuomo more money, on top of the $25000. Bargain, right?
