Weekly News Round Up – 23/03/14

Who doesn’t love a bit of new music? From album streams to video releases, we’ve got you covered for the last week.

Scouts posted their brand new track ‘Hourglass’, taken from their upcoming 5 track EP ‘Bloom,’ to Youtube this week. ‘Bloom’ is available to pre-order now and is due for release April 7th. Check it out!

playlounge have released the DIY video for their most recent track, ‘waves and waves and waves’. Put together by band member Saam, the video consists of Super 8 footage recorded by a housemate at university. Their forthcoming debut full-length, ‘pilot,’ plays host to the track and is due for release on March 26th via Dog Knight productions.

Detroit pop punkers Fireworks are streaming their new album in full with Red Bull, and it’s bloody good. Check out ‘Oh, Common Life’ via the player below or over at the Red Bull website.  Be sure to pre order the record through Banquet Records in the UK here.

Seahaven are streaming the follow-up to 2011′s ‘Winter Forever’ via Noisey. ‘Reverie Lagoon: Music For Escapism Only’ is filled with melancholic soundscapes perfect for winding down. If you can wait for the official release tomorrow, check it out here.

TNS Records

Manchester based TNSrecords are celebrating their 10th year with a 2-day festival encompassing 3 gigs. Random Hand will headline the main show at Sound Control on the 12th April and the majority of the label’s roster will also play across both days. Other bands include The Franceens, Bootscraper and 3DBS Down.For more information on the anniversary shows, head over to the official Facebook event page, and you can buy tickets from their webstore.

2000trees is looking better than ever with the addition of some incredible bands this week. The likes of Band of Skulls, The Bronx, Kids In Glass Houses, Decade, VERSES, Andy Oliveri, Boat To Row and Lonely Tourist and SO MANY MORE join the already massive line up. Sonisphere Festival have announced the following bands for their 2014 weekender. Band Of Skulls, Gary Numan, Carcass, New Model Army, The Winery Dogs, Gallows, 65daysofstatic, Sebastian Bach, Chiodos, Anti-Nowhere League, Little Matador and The Lounge Kittens will all be joining headliners The Prodigy, Iron Maiden and Metallica this July 4th-6th.

Camden Rocks have added The Subways as the latest band to this years line up along with The Graveltones, Palm Reader, 
Oxygen Thief,
 Boy Jumps Ship
 and tonnes more. The latest additions join the previously confirmed Reverend & The Makers, The Blackout, Ginger Wildheart, Hacktivist and others across the festivals 19 venues on 31st May.

You may have heard about this year’s Record Store Day, but if you missed it here’s a run down of only a few of the exclusive releases hitting the shelves on April 19th. Beans of Toast, The Computers, Dads, My Chemical Romance, Set Your Goals and Paramore are all getting in on the action amongst a whole host of others.
