Weekly News Round Up – 09/02/14

Starting off the week on a massive high, we brought you the first play of new EP, ‘Stories and Ruses’, from The GetGone. Featuring members of Capdown, 1000Hz and Sacred of the Ocean, the band’s influences span the whole punk spectrum but, packed with woahs and riffs, we’re giving it a huge thumbs up. Despite being teased by the guys, this is the first time it’s been online in full. Check it out below!

Once again, tour announcements flooded in this week. Goldfinger are returning to the UK with Zebrahead and Fandangle for the first ever ‘Slam Dunk Ska Punk Tour,’ which is sure to be absolute madness.

I Am The Avalanche are taking Turnover, Major League, and Moose Blood out on tour, which, without a doubt, will provide one of THE tours of the year. We can’t wait.

Along with these, we’ve had announcements from Seahaven, Punktastic favourites Gnarwolves and Pulled Apart by horses. We don’t know where to spend our money first. We posted a full list of dates and information on how to get tickets earlier this week.

If you weren’t content with tour announcements, all the major festivals have been following suit and churning out acts at the speed of light. 2000 Trees dropped their Thursday line up, topped by Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip and Gnarwolves, tickets are sure to be flying out. Along with these, the Thursday early entry night brings

In other You Me At Six new, the Surrey quintet announced that Don Broco will join them out on their forthcoming UK tour. The tour is in support of the latter’s number one album ‘Cavalier Youth’ (review here), and you can get tickets for the shows that aren’t sold out here.

Who didn’t love Fearless’ ‘Punk Goes…’ compilations? No one. That’s why we were stoked to hear that the label has announced the tracklisting for the latest release, Punk Goes 90′s Vol. 2. Available from April 1st, you can check out who’s doing what here.

Animal Style Records released a sampler, celebrating the marriage of founder Matt Medina. The sampler features covers from four bands on the label and costs a tiny$4. All proceeds are being donated to freedomtomarry.org – what better reason to buy the record?

Modern Baseball released their new album this week and are streaming it online for the world to hear (and appreciate). Get it now for the princely sum of $5 (£3 ish- how can you say no?) or give it a listen below.

Last, but my no means least, Beans On Toast have released a new video ‘Keep You’, which you can check out using the player in this article. It’s great.
