Weekly News Round Up – 02/03/14

It’s been a long time coming. After showcasing two tracks over the past two months, Architects have put up a full stream of their new album, ‘Lost Together // Lost Forever’ on YouTube. The record will be available for purchase and download via Epitaph on March 10th, and the Brighton quintet will play an intimate launch show at The Haunt in Brighton on the same day. Sheffield emo duo Nai Harvest also put their new release up for stream this week. ‘Hold Open My Head,’ the four-track EP, is streaming in full over on Stereogum. Packed with 90s grunge vibes throughout, its well worth a listen. Read our full review of the record.

It’s been mega on the tour announcements front this week.

Feed The Rhino have announcd May 2014 headline dates with The Howling and Zoax, Blitz Kids have been added as support to the forthcoming Canterbury tour and Neck Deep have announced a bunch of dates that coincide with April’s Hit the Deck festival. On the road with them are Climates, so it’s set to be a mighty good show.

Remember New Found Glory’s ‘Pop Punks Not Dead’ US tour? Well, it’s coming to the UK this November. The Story So Far, Candy Hearts and Only Rivals join the show with Florida’s kings of pop punk, as well as a special guest being announced this May. Tickets on sale now, so get in there quick.

Kids In Glass Houses are out on tour this October for a full run of UK dates. The catch? It’s the Cardiff crew’s final set of shows as earlier this week they called it a day. Along with their summer dates, the band’s farewell tour gives us all ample opportunity to catch them one last time, so get the beers in and do it. Tickets on sale already.

Festival season is drawing ever nearer and, as usual, we have a TON of line-up announcements to throw at your eagerly awaiting eyes.

Groezrock have completed their lineup with the addition of Las Vegas pop rock band Falling In Reverse. Check out the rest of the line up on the festival’s website.

Chepstow’s Stencil Fest (set for July 27th) also released their full line up; the one-day annual event covers three stages and is curated by the wonderful gang over at Stencil Mag. Head over to the Facebook page for full details and ticket prices.

Great Escape have added Gnarwolves, Boy Jumps Ship, Bear Hands, Dry The River, Only Rivals and MORE to this year’s May three-dayer. It’s going to be huge. Check out the full additions over here.

So, the Download announcement was slightly tainted by a leak the day before but the legendary rock festival didn’t let that get them down. Twenty four more acts have been confirmed for the bill of the Donington Park spectacular this June. Additions, who join headliners Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park and Aerosmith, are include Bring Me The Horizon, Behemoth, We Came As Romans, Twenty One Pilots and SO SO many more. Returning after their hiatus, Sonisphere Festival have announced 14 more bands who join previously announced headliners The Prodigy, Iron Maiden and Metallica. Among others, Anti-Flag, The Defiled and Dog Eat Dog (to be performing ‘All Boro Kings’ in full) join the already massive line up. The festival will take place from the 12th to the 14th July, and early bird tickets are available now via a deposit scheme.

After that mammoth lot of announcements you’re probably wondering where the new music is… but don’t worry, we’ve got your back.

Thomas from Strike Anywhere has teamed up with ex-members of Set Your Goals, Rise Against and Comeback Kid to form Great Collapse. They’re set to release an EP titled ‘Elemental’ and have already treated us to a track on Soundcloud. Check it out.

Ohio’s own Cloud Nothings are streaming a new song from their forthcoming full length. ‘Physic Trauma’ is available for streaming using the player in this article. ‘Here and Nowhere Else’ is released on March 31. It’s going to be a good’un.
