One of the UK’s best up-and-coming new bands, thisGIRL, have dropped Punktastic a line to tell us what they’ve been up to in the last month.

So, here we go: “We’ve just returned home from our two week jaunt across the country for those lovely people at Metal Hammer! It was an massive success with huge turnouts at *just about* all the shows! We had the chance to meet so many new fans who had travelled near and far just to see the show! So THANK YOU!

“We can now confirm that the shoot for the “live” part of our first video will take place THIS SATURDAY!! This will be at the CROWN venue in WORCESTER at around 8pm! The venue is in the centre of town and relatively easy to get to from all train/bus stations! This will surely sell out VERY early so if you are thinking of attending then pleeeease get in touch and let us know!

“It will comprise of a short set for the filming and then afterwards you’ll be delighted to witness the amazing 8HR DRIVE & FIVE KNUCKLE. All this for the humble door tax of £3.50. I know a load of you are wondering why we didn’t do the shoot in London as promised, but the truth is that the director, our label and all the camera’s are based in wustee so it was the easiest option!

“As you may have read on the website recently, Lockjaw Records issued a statement declaring that they have had to move all of their UK & worldwide distribution agreement from Pinnacle to PHD. This is a move everyone at lockjaw and thisGIRL HQ is more than happy about however due to this the release of our debut album has had to be postponed.

“We now have a new release date and although everyone here would like to apologise for any inconvenience, we think it will be worth the wait! So be prepared as the album drops on MONDAY 8th APRIL and we’ll be running a BIG preorder promotion through the website this month!! It was recorded in a castle and cottage in the depths of the national trust forest and we had loads of fun doin’ it!

“Full complete tracklisting is *EXCLUSIVE* “Three Minute Spanish Film”, “T is for Tup-Tup”, “Lifts Curves and Separates”, “Using Radars to Communicate”, “Dil-Dil-Dewana”, “She said everyday is a holiday”, “two many magnetic words”, “Stop Making Sense”, “Los“, and “goodbye carpet-Hello rave party”

“After loads & loads of enquiries as to when our next London show will be, I now have pleasure in confirming our appearance at the SUBVERSE club run by Visible Noise Records on SATURDAY 6th APRIL. PLEASE NOTE This is a change from the original date which was announced before the MH tour. The club is located in the Ladbrooke Grove area of London and will be open to “all age’s” with a special daytime schedule. The doors are at 2pm and admission fee is only £2!! We will then play a very special show as part of our celebrations for our album release the NEXT NIGHT at the MONARCH in LONDON. Thats SUNDAY 7th (the night before the release!) More details to follow….

“As you heard last time, our track “three minute spanish film” has had quite a bit of airplay on Steve Lamacq’s evening session (R1) as well as totalrock & xfm! Please keep requesting the track if you wanna continue to hear it, hopefully we can keep the buzz going until the release of the album! If you STILL haven’t heard the track then you can download it at http://www.metalhammer.co.uk or http://www.thisgirl.co.uk

“After selling out completely after only four show’s on the Metal Hammer tour, it seems the new range of thisGIRL merchandise is VERY hot property. After much preparation the Internet MAIL ORDER service should be launched this MONDAY! To view and order simply visit http://www.thisgirl.co.uk/tgmailorder.htm and fill in the form. It’s run by the band so you have our word that its QUICK, EASY and RELIABLE. Any probs? drop us a line…
