Red Bull Studios Live returns to Download Festival

By Ben Tipple

Red Bull have announced the return of their Studios Live competition, offering unsigned bands the opportunity of a professional studio experience, mentoring and a slot at this year’s Download Festival.

Last year saw the likes of Searching Alaska, Forever Can Wait and Press to MECO take to Download’s legendary stages.

Bands are invited to upload their videos to the Red Bull Studios Live website, where both the public and a panel of expert judges (including Red Bull Records manager Angie Somerside, Huw Stevens, Katie P and Don Broco) will help to decide the winners.

100 bands will be shortlisted by public vote, when 15 bands will be chosen by the panel of judges. Of those 15, 8 bands will then go to play the Red Bull Studios Live stage at Download.

Interested bands have 3 weeks from the 1st April to upload a profile to the website. Bands must be unsigned, aged between 16 and 25 and be UK residents. At 5pm on Monday 21st April, those who have created the most hype on social media, and received the most votes, will be added to the shortlist.
