Six support acts for the Nottingham Distortion festival have been announced.

The festival, due to go ahead on July 20 at Wollaton Park, will see A, Rival Schools, Hundred Reasons, Spunge, Three Colours Red and Raging Speedhorn supporting Green Day.

Distortion 2002 follows in a similar vein to last years Extreme festival, which featured eight of the biggest, best and most exciting American and British skate punk / ska core acts around, including Less Than Jake, Pitchshifter, The Vandals and The Ataris.

Speaking on the Rock City website, www.rock-city.co.uk director Andy Copping said: “This year will see up to 16 bands over two stages, the bill already looks amazing and we are currently in talks with some very high profile acts to join the show.”

Director George Akins said: “We are extremely happy with the way things are going this year. Green Day are one of the biggest bands around at the moment and along with such amazing support acts, have helped boost the profile of Distortion, putting the event on a par with City In The Park.”
