More news on the tragic loss of Jim Cherry

By

As most of you will know, ex-Pulley and Strung Out and current Zero Down guitarist Jim Cherry passed away on Saturday. Although details were thin on the ground at the time, www.fatwreck.com have posted this on their news page:

“On July 7th Jim Cherry of Zero Down, Strung Out, and Pulley passed away. As a founding member of a core Fat band, Jim played a huge part in our lives and will always be remembered for his songwriting and passion for music. He was a loved member of the Fat family and we miss him very much.

Jim lived his life as an honest and open person and we feel that it’s important to share the facts with the punk rock community. Although Jim had been clean in recent months, he battled addiction with prescription drugs for a couple of years. It would seem that his addiction got the best of him, as he died from an accidental overdose of Soma (a muscle relaxer) this past weekend. Again, we send our thoughts out to Jim’s family and loved ones.”

An unfortunate accident and a sorry loss, I am sure you will agree. RIP Jim, you will be missed.
