Lightyear to support Green Day

By paul

Lil from Household Name Records contacted us this morning to let us know that Lightyear will be supporting Green Day on July 15.

Lil said: “LIGHTYEAR have been invited by the Kings of Loud Pop, GREEN DAY, to open for them this Monday 15th July 2002 at Newcastle Telewest Arena.

Lightyear have accepted (of course), however we feel that Green Day may have made a
huge error exposing 7 naked crazies from Derby with trumpets and yellow canoe to an unsuspecting Geordie audience of 11,000. We anticipate a Jim Morrison/Lizard King ill advised public nudity – arrest – public order offence charges – night in the cells scenario to ensue.

“Sorry to everyone in York but Lightyear will be unable to play at Fibbers on Monday, the rest of the bill will be playing as advertised. Reality will deliver the Derby loons a slap as they return to the more familiar surroundings of the
Household Name tour (emergency rescheduled show) at Hartlepool Studio on
Tuesday 16th.”
