Have some Good Clean Fun…

By paul

Punktastic friends Good Clean Fun Records have sent us a special message that they want us to share with you.

So without further ado, here we go:

“First of all, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all the support you’ve shown the label in 2001. It was our first full year, in which we released three records, met a load of cool people and realised that there is nothing better than having people share in something you believe in.

“We couldn’t do any of this without the support that you have all shown us – buying our records, writing to us, going to our bands’ gigs, ordering stuff from us through mail order, and everything else you do. Thank you all.

“Here’s an update on everything that’s been going on…
THE BUSDRIVERS have just got back from touring the West of the USA, and it was another success! The band have had some great reviews of their CD ‘Missed This Little Trend’ including the Punktastic review, and we were all over the moon to hear Steve Lamacq describe the band as “the new Less Than Jake“, and to play the songs “Josh’s Shirt” and “Maybe Next Time” on Radio One. 2002 can only be a great year for The Busdrivers!

THE CHEAPSKATES‘ EP ‘Nobody’s Prefect’ is in the shops now! The reviews have started to come in – all positive so far – and Steve Lamacq has also shown his approval of our most recent release! The band toured the UK in November with JESSEJAMES and ADEQUATE SEVEN, a fantastic tour with some great shows, and hope to get back on the road in 2002.

“We welcome our newest member of staff – Tom. Tom is going to be helping with the promotion and publicity side of GCF’s work, trying to make 2002 an even better year for us than the last. As a really small label, half the battle is just getting our releases heard by the people out there, so Tom is going to work on that.
We are going to stop using the Cardiff mail order address. Matt and Hannah are both moving out of the house in Cardiff, so there’ll be nobody there to collect the mail orders!

“Please use the Haverfordwest address on the web site and the back of our CDs – the mail orders are then forwarded onto us, so please allow us a few extra days to get your cheques cleared and your CDs out to you. Thanks!

“NEW IN STOCK…
From Do The Dog Music – the compilation ‘This Are UK Ska, Vol. 2’. Priced at £5 postage paid (UK), the CD is ten songs from ska-influenced UK bands, and includes The Cheapskates‘ ‘Like A Book’. Other bands on the CD include Citizen Fish, Lubby Nugget, Lightyear, 4ft Fingers and Identity #1. Ordering details are, as ever, on the web site.

“Well, that is it from us. Thanks once again – and here’s to 2002.
