Gone Is Gone reveal debut track, ‘Violescent’

By Ben Tipple

Featuring members of At The Drive-In, Mastodon and Queens Of The Stone Age, supergroup (yes, we used it) Gone Is Gone have unveiled their sludgy debut track, ‘Violescent’. These guitar sounds are pretty filthy.

“Calming the inner beast and creating separation between yourself and the caged animal, hungry with destructive intent,” says Troy Sanders, also of Mastodon, of the track’s lyrical content. “Bridging negative experiences of the past into a new and colorful light, becoming your ‘violescent self’. Desiring to better your personal environment and those who surround you, you must first better yourself.”

It will form part of their self-titled EP, due on the 8th July via Black Dune Records. Pre-orders via iTunes include an instant download of the track, and physical pre-orders will be available from some point today.
