CYNICS have changed their name to GREAT CYNICS due to legal reasons (there’s already a band called Cynics et cetera et cetera)…
Giles Bidder commented on the new moniker saying, “It has the same meaning as the original name did, which is about people who sit back and tell you that you can’t do what you want to do whilst doing fuck all themselves.”
The band has previously released a 7″ EP titled Stones I’ve Thrown which will continue to reflect the original name until the vinyl is repressed. However, the forthcoming album Don’t Need Much will carry the new name. Due out June 13th, Don’t Need Much can be pre-ordered now through Banquet Records with a pre-order including a copy of the record and a limited edition t-shirt:
