The Come Down – All Fur Coat and No Knickers

By Tom Aylott

Bradford three piece THE COME DOWN make a less than seminal debut with new EP ‘All Fur Coat and No Knickers’.

Underwhelming might be the best way to sum up this four track release, given its sub par production values and very standard songwriting. There’s very little here to tickle interest, as there’s nothing on offer that hasn’t been done before.

Although the hooks and lyrical styling are often quite good, the vocal performances are very weak, with attempted harmonies bordering on laughable.

As musicians THE COME DOWN are perfectly competent and have great energy, but borrow far too heavily from the likes of early BLINK-182 and pigeonhole themselves far too early, giving no real room to think creatively or evolve. Best to avoid with hopes they’ll do better next time.
