It’s all a bit 8-bit with (T-T)b

Guitars, check. Bass, check. Drums, check. Rigged up classic Nintendo Entertainment System… check…

Boston’s 8-bit punks (T-T)b are not the first band to use early computer game sounds or toys in their makeup, I remember watching a gaunt gentleman extracting sounds I never deemed possible from a electronic toy guitar over a decade ago. But Nintendo-core (remember that) this is not. Instead, the trio create an unusual and entirely playful musical soundscape that channels indie-punk… just with a little more Nintendo than the average.

“When I wrote this I was watching too much Friends and ignoring all kinds of deadlines. It’s a song about slacking,” guitarist and programmer Joey Dussault ponders. “Does that make it slacker rock? We’re not really sure.”

Completed by Jake Cardinal on bass and Nick Dussault on drums, (T-T)b are hoping to bring instrumental 8-bit punk to the masses. Recorded at Converse Rubber Tracks Studio in Boston,’Chump’ will appear on the band’s split with shadynasty, due in the Spring via Out Of Breath Records.
