Sheffield’s self-proclaimed ‘sasscore’ band, Air Drawn Dagger, are about to release their new single, ‘The Banshee’. Today we are giving you an exclusive look at the video for the track below.
“‘The Banshee’ is the final single taken from our EP, ‘Ours for the taking … Theirs for the Breaking’.” says bassist Lewis Budden. “It embodies the temptation that any alternative is better then your reality. The idea that all missed opportunity’s or “what ifs…” haunt you, like a Banshee that keep howling at you to jump of the edge; stalking you with the choices to see if the grass is really greener. Lyrically it plays with the idea of opting out of the mundane whilst referencing mental health and self-destruction.
“The video gives the feel of a hostage transmission and resolves the narrative of our EP: Young characters trying to escape an Orwellian/post-apocalyptic setting. The video shows religions ceremonies, political speeches, global unrest to convey this setting and ties our trilogy of video together to make a short film.”
