We at Punktastic are exclusively streaming Daniel Versus the World’s wonderful debut album, ‘Remember Who You Are’.
After a few years performing as a solo artist, Daniel is backed by Colour Me Wednesday and ยกAy Carmela! members Carmela Pietrangelo and Laura Ankles to deliver a breathtaking debut LP, full of sincerely honest and thoughtful indie pop/rock.
Describing the album’s themes, Daniel says, “‘Remember Who You Are’ is about identity. For me, it’s a celebration of everything that has shaped me into who I am today, but it’s also about figuring out our identities in a society where too often people are still told their identities are invalid. It’s a deeply personal album, but intrinsically tied to the idea of the personal as political. It’s not just about me, it’s about our communities and our families, whoever we decide that is. So it is an album filled with hope, but also a lot of anger.”
‘Remember Who You Are’ by Daniel Versus the World will be available on the 2nd November via Dovetown. There will also be an official album launch show the same day at Her Upstairs in London with Brendan Maclean and Meth.
