Brunch take on more than they can handle in new video for ‘Taxi Feelings’

By Aaron Lohan

London indie rockers Brunch are premiering their new video for ‘Taxi Feelings’ exclusively forĀ Punktastic.

The video captures drummer Bob MacPherson’s attempt to finish off a 6.3% pint of beer in slow motion, which unfortunately doesn’t go quite as planned. “We wanted to have a video that would make everyone think we were really good at drinking beer,” explains vocalist/guitarist Sean Brook. “We thought this might make people like our band more. Unfortunately Bob wasn’t really able to drink all the beer so now this video stands more as a testament to our failures which, to be honest, was the exact opposite of our intention.”

As for the song itself, a shining example of the band’s well honed lo-fi pop introspection, which is reminiscent of Pavement, Brook states, “I canā€™t really remember what the song taxi feelings is about, but I think it is mainly concerned with cars, daydreaming, drinking and the euphoric, punch-the-air feeling of finally accepting your own shame.”

‘Taxi Feelings’ can be found on Brunch’s upcoming debut album, ‘Big Water’, which will be released on the 18th November on limited cassette via Hanger Records. You can pre-order it on their bandcamp pageĀ or Hanger Records.Ā The band will also be playing the following UK shows in November and December.
