Riskee and the Ridicule announce new album, ‘Blame Culture’

By Glen Bushell

Kent-based indie-punk band, Riskee and the Ridicule, have announced details of their new album, ‘Blame Culture’.

“Not being scared to say what you think is vital and if there was ever a time that music needed to say something, it’s now,” explain the band of the album. “With so much music around that says nothing and hypnotises everyone into stagnation, someone should be leading the opposing charge and reinvigorating. A lot of people have lost their humanity and it’s a very sorry state of affairs. Blame Culture follows a story and brings a point across that anyone living through the political turmoil we are facing at the moment will understand.”

It will be released on January 6th, and will include their new single, ‘Banger’, which the band have unveiled today to coincide with the announcement.

“‘Banger'” is a single that Jimbo and I pretty much made up on the spot in a friends studio,” says vocalist, Scott Picking. “We showed Matt and Dave and they were hooked on it straight away. We then crafted the verses around the vocal adding the stops and starts allowing the lyrics to breathe. The message is about people’s different perceptions. People see things in totally different ways from one another, sometimes they take their own perceptions of reality as fact but you need to break that mind set. Learning constantly and being willing to change is what is going to set this generation apart from our predecessors. People are angry. People are waking up.”
