Sirens In The Delta – ‘Revolutions To Follow’

By James Davenport

Having already supported Funeral For A Friend, Skindred and InMe, as well as making an appearance at this year’s prestigious Download Festival, Sirens In The Delta are quickly making a name for themselves. This month sees the release of their debut EP ‘Revolutions To Follow’, a powerful first effort from the female-fronted Teesside quintet. This release is overflowing with catchy vocal hooks and thundering guitar parts all tied together with a plethora of pounding drums and percussion.

This is most evident on the group’s first single to be taken from this release, ‘Paris’, which from the off rumbles into action with those stomping guitars and is topped with what is probably one of the catchiest choruses in recent rock music history. Tracks ‘Halo’ and ‘The Attack’ both slow down the pace slightly but still retain the scuzzy, grungy sound reminiscent of songs by bands such as Hole, Queens Of The Stone Age and, at times, Black Sabbath.

The closing track ‘Weapon’ is a relentless wall of sound. A full blown balls to the wall output which is sure to get your head nodding. Again containing a catchy as hell chorus of soaring vocals this really is a perfect note to end on that leaves the listener craving for more.
