Glasgow’s This Familiar Smile have always been on my radar and having been impressed with the band’s demos, it’s good to see they’ve got a proper release out on Lockjaw. This EP showcases a My Awesome Compilation-meets-The Next Autumn Soundtrack kinda vibe, which switches from Sincerely Monroe – The Stranger and the contortionist I was quite looking forwrad to this album after checking out some Sincerely Monroe tracks earlier this year, but sadly this record doesn’t quite consistently hit the spot. While the band take influences from melodic rock bands and try and throw in some more technical guitar parts, Farewell to Epitaph Epitaph have signed power-pop band Farewell.
