Watch the video for Hope In High Water’s ‘When Sorrow Calls’

Born out of the UK punk scene, Hope In High Water – previously known simply by their individual names Josh Chandler Morris and Carly Slade – have been making waves in the country and Americana scenes with their delicate singer-songwriting. Having revealed ‘Who’s Gonna Hold Your Hand’ in May of last year, the duo are gearing up for the release of their ‘When Sorrow Calls’ EP on the 14th March, the title-track of which is available to view via the video below.

“‘When Sorrow Calls’ was a reaction to seeing a homeless man looking into the advertisement windows for a new housing devolpment in Milton Keynes, which portrayed the ‘ideal’ family in their new home and the mixture of hope and sadness of that image,” the pair explain. “It’s ultimately about the ability of those with the least to endure and stay the most positive. But it’s also about not being idealistic about it and accepting that even though we know we’ve got it good, sometimes things can just be hard.”

“With the video we threw a lot of ideas around with our friend Matt (JB Conspiracy) who filmed the video but in the end we decided that the most honest way to portray the song was to just get a bunch of our friends into our living room and put on a house show. We honestly couldn’t be more happy with the result. We felt that the warmth and sincerity really comes through.”
