Earlier this year, German indie/emo band Sleep Kit released their excellent debut album II via Big Scary Monsters. One of our favourite tracks from the record was ‘I’da Called Eti, Erik’, and today we are bringing you live version of the track that the band recently recorded at RAMA Sound in Mannheim, Germany.
“We stopped by RAMA Sound in Mannheim, Germany towards the end of a three week tour in October,” says vocalist/guitarist Nick Jongen of the track. “We unfortunately had to cancel our show in Strasbourg, France a day prior to the session due to sickness. Two out of three band members were still a bit ill during the recordings, but we were taken care of very well. Everything had to be tracked rather quickly because we were playing a show with Milemarker in the evening, but it all went down smoothly. We had a lot of fun doing this and RAMA is such a cool studio.“
Watching them perform the track live, just goes to show how much extra energy they put into playing. While the album version captured that very well, it is far more unbridled live. If you didn’t catch them on their recent European tour, the band are currently plotting another tour for the New Year, so keep your eyes peeled for that. In the meantime, check out the footage of ‘I’da Called Eti, Erik’ at RAMA sound below.
