South Wales has for some time been the home of melody driven pop-punk in the UK. In that sense, Manhattan Coast find themselves joining a long list of jovial veterans.
It’s of little surprise that ‘This One’s For You’ is filled with the same hook filled sound that has driven the likes of Kids in Glass Houses to their respective success. Yet Manhattan Coast separate themselves further from the pack with their heavier riffs and darker melodies. It’s got enough of the pop-punk conventions to keep any traditionalist happy, but the substance rears its head when the guitars are ramped up and the dual vocals kick in.
We’re streaming ‘This One’s For You’ a full week ahead of its official release. We think you’ll agree that these guys are headed for big things.
